A simple DIY Easter bucket

Inspired by blogger friend Meredith of the sweet T family, I managed to still find the same bucket from hobby lobby and grabbed a set of stickers for our little guy's name and monogram. Fast, easy and for under $5 (thanks to their 50% discounts) ~ I love it!

Busy School Boy

The last few weeks had been busy with our little boy's school activities starting with a Daddy and Me breakfast just in time for the start of the town's annual rodeo.
They both had a wonderful time with other dads and his friends and they get to play cowboys for a day.

Heading out to go to rodeo breakfast

The other exciting event they had at school was the Transportation day where various cars, trucks, boats, RVs and motorcycles parade in the school parking lot for all the students to ride and play with all morning. Despite the gloomy rainy day, they all had a grand time. I am so glad to know that this is a yearly event that the school hosts!

They were all thrilled to be in a RV

An antique ford truck

Everyone squeezing on a vintage Ford pickup. My favorite from the event!

The flatbed truck was everyone's fave

A favorite of the kids, they all get to pull the truck's horn and squeal with delight!

Fishing boat

Then finally, it was a treat for them to get to sit on a fishing boat and I am just a lucky mom who's able to share these days with him at school and able to witness the joy these activities bring to him!

Spring Fling

I don't know about you but I'm so ready for spring. I am longing to see our azalea bushes bloom and our grass to be as lively green as possible.

Last Sunday, I set up our table for some bright spring
and easter accents and I am loving it!

Do you love spring like I do?

Kids Say the Funniest Things

My friend Rae shared with us this funny story this morning. It made my day.

Stephen (her 5 year old nephew) preparing for his school interview.

Grandma : Stephen, the principal will ask you 1+1

Stephen: 2

Grandma : What will you say when he asks you your parents name?
Stephen: I will ask him if he just forgot since he already knows my mom and dad. My brothers go to the school so he knows them!

Grandma : You need to be serious because if you don't answer respectfully, he will not admit you to the school
Stephen: Does he know that big people go to jail when they don't let the kids go to school? The police will get him, he has to let me in, That's the law.

Funny!

Vintage family photos

I'd like to share a few precious photos from our family obviously taken many many years ago in the Philippines. I love the black/white and sepia shots of the images, not sure if the bluish and yellow tinge on the various pictures are due to the scanning or it really depicted the true aging of the photos and is reflected after the scans. No matter how it came about, they are priceless photos of our young family then.

Mom with Lilivi and Alvi. Must be my sister's birthday celebration. Looks like she's in charge of the cake.

Yup, that's me taking a quick refreshing soda drink from Papang before heading back out to the water. Older sister Lilith is behind me.

Visits to the park was a ritual family outing usually after school or the weekends. That's me and my little brother Vincent and mom at a local park. Not sure why he does not have a shirt on (and shoes).

bday

At home with the neighborhood kids. This must be a birthday party for me and Lilith. We both have January birthdates and usually share a birthday celebration.

I must be about 3 years old here attending a holiday party with my older sister Lilith and our nanny. Unsure who the little boy is. Looks like he's got his treat and balloon early before we did. No wonder I was pouting.

Post-Valentine Report

Last Monday, I was one of the moms helping out for Aston's Valentine's lunch party and we all had a lovely time. Here are a few pictures.

Before lunch, in their prayer position

Valentine's school party

Chatting and eating

School valentines party

A fun home project we get to enjoy working on. Aston did the honors of putting on the stickers of stuff he loves and I arranged the family photos. This was then posted on their classroom wall

Aston loves...

Their treat bags lined up on the wall so they could each fall in line and drop their goodies in their friends' bags

School goodies bag

I totally forgot to snap a photo of his decorated mini-gable boxes filled with truffles for his classmates. So, this will do

At the end of the day, we had a great time going over his numerous cards and goodies and it's like halloween in February with the amount of treats he took home!

Under the Weather

That's exactly how I feel and look today. Terribly ill. Both Ben and I are sick and we suspect it came from the little man who briefly had fever last Friday. I already picked up our prescription and we are chillin' watching TV marathon. We are just hoping we will be fine tomorrow in time to go back to work.

I apologize for not having sunday snapshots today. Obviously, I'm too weak to even carry around that camera. Promise to be back next Sunday for more pretty images.
